ITC Background

Innertkirchen

Situated in the heart of Switzerland, the ITC School provides both theoretical and practical training and research in all aspects of science, engineering, decision-making and communication concerned with underground waste management and related environmental issues. The ITC is based in Switzerland, but organises courses worldwide. Many of our courses have been held in or around Meirringen, in the upper Aare valley, in the heart of the Alpine region.

The ITC domicile is in Innertkirchen in the Bernese Alps. The Region offers sport, fun and relaxation for young and old! Experience the diversity of an alpine summer and the fascination of a winter wonderland surrounded by mountains, lakes and the hospitality of the local people.

Information on the region is available at http://www.berneroberland.ch/ while the details of Innertkirchen are at www.innertkirchen.ch/gemeinde.html

The region is readily accessible from major airports in Switzerland either by car or by rail within 3 to 4 hours. The nearest SBB (Swiss National Railway) station is at Meiringen where people can take the MIB (Meiringen-Innertkirchen-Bahn) to be in Innertkirchen in 10 minutes. The train timetables are available at http://www.rail.ch/

Assembly of Members

The annual Assembly of Members will be held in Hotel-Restaurant Blume, Baden , Switzerland , on 10th March 2009. The principal business will be to review activities in 2008 (our 6th year of operation) and discuss the forward plans for 2009 and 2010.

Our Assembly is the main opportunity for Members to meet and provide input and guidance for the development of the Association, so the Executive really encourages you to attend and take an active part in the discussions.
